PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In February and MArch 2023, Geogas performed for the first time in Brazil two services that totaled, using the conversion (GWP) for methane with 25:1, the equivalent of 1,674 tCO2e of avoided GHG emissions.

  • Services performed at 20″:

– Volume of gas to be evacuated in the pipeline:    88.000 m³;
– Volume consumed by the compression system:    2.512m³;
– Volume of vented residual gas: 6.759m³;
– Initial pressure in the pipeline before the start of the service: 17 kgf/cm²;
– Residual pressure in the pipeline after emptyin:  0.7 kgf/cm²;
– Preserved gas volume: 78.729m³ ou 78.729 x 0,76 = 59.834 kg;

  • Using the conversion (GWP) for methane at 25:1, it amounts to 1,496 tCO2e of avoided greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Services performed at 20″:

– Volume of gas to be evacuated in the pipeline:    10.500 m³;
– Volume consumed by the compression system:    300m³;
– Volume of vented residual gas: 806m³;
– Initial pressure in the pipeline before the start of the service: 17 kgf/cm²;
– Residual pressure in the pipeline after emptyin:  0.7 kgf/cm²;
– Preserved gas volume: 9.394 m³ or 9.349 x 0,76 = 7.139 kg

  • Using the conversion (GWP) for methane at 25:1, it amounts to 178 tCO2e of avoided greenhouse gas emissions.
